PATIENT TESTIMONIALS

Dr. Small, who has been my physician for many, many years, performed an A&P Repair in February 2011.  I had a prolapsed bladder that was bulging into the vagina.  This was causing difficult intercourse, worsening problems with bowel elimination and more difficulty in emptying my bladder.  He had been monitoring these issues, and we decided that it was time to correct these problems with surgery.

This was my first and only surgery for the prolapse of the pelvic organs and it was a complete success.  By following Dr. Small’s very specific instructions, my recovery was complete and without any complications whatsoever.  I spend only one night in the hospital, and I was back to my normal activities right on schedule.  I would highly recommend Dr. Small’s surgical technique to anyone with pelvic prolapse issues.

After my A&P Repair surgery, which required one night in the hospital, I am able to enjoy greater freedom from frequent bathroom stops, and able to completely empty my bladder and bowel with ease.  I can cough, sneeze, laugh and exercise with full confidence of no leakage.  I highly recommend this procedure.

My life has changed all to the good after my prolapse surgery.  I was age 57 when I had my prolapse surgery.  I felt like I was in my 80’s or older.  I feel years younger.  I can do anything I want without any worries about a leak problem or searching for a bathroom.  I go out to eat, dancing, casino and many other outings with my lady friends and they are always checking out where the bathrooms are located.  I grin inside and I am so glad that is not me anymore.  I have had no problems with the surgery.  I can now ride horses, jog on the treadmill, go to the gym, sleep through the night, and play with my grandkids and so many other things.  My grandkids are glad I don’t have to take so many bathroom breaks when we are out doing the kid stuff they love to do.  My quality of like is awesome!  Dr. Small gave me a new lease on life and I can never thank him enough.

After years of having problems with my bladder, I decided I must seek a physician to correct the problem, if possible.  I did so, and had surgery.  However, the discomfort persisted, and worse yet it was discovered that stitches from the surgery were still present.

I visited another gynecologist; during her examination, even more stitches were discovered.  As a result of her recommendations, the discomfort was not alleviated.

The symptoms worsened; and I sought relief elsewhere.  A friend suggested I schedule an appointment with Dr. Small.  I did so, and I am relieved that I did.

Dr. Small did an examination, asked questions and we discussed prior issues.  I had become leery of the “mesh sling for incontinence” procedure for over-active bladders.  He assured me that he did not use that procedure, and explained the method he would perform.

As months have passed, the results have been amazing.  I am experiencing normal functioning of my bladder for the first time in years.

Not only am I quite pleased with my experience and results of my surgery by Dr. Small, I am more than pleased with the hospital he uses.

I had my first bladder repair in 2007. I had heard from my doctor and other friends that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I was skeptical, but a 50/50 chance is worth taking. The first year was fine and my leakage issues seemed to subside. The second year, I started to notice some of my old symptoms coming back, and by year 3 post surgery, it was as if I had never had corrective surgery at all. Forget exercise and being able to hold your bladder during flights.

In 2011, I had to switch OB/GYN’s due to my insurance change. I was recommended to Dr. Small by my Internist. During the visit for my yearly exam, Dr. Small asked about my prior surgery and the results. I told him it was not working anymore and I guess it was just one of the joys of childbirth. Dr. Small told me it did not have to be this way and the new procedure he was performing along with his urologist was having incredible results, higher than 50/50.
After months of testing and making sure I was a good candidate with no other existing health issues, the surgery was performed in March 2011. I stayed in N. Texas Surgical overnight and left the next day to begin my recovery. I was up and about in no time and am happy to say, I am more active than I have ever been since childbirth. This surgery was absolutely the best thing I could of done for my mental and physical health and restoring my body.

Dr. Small and his team are absolutely amazing!

Dr. Gregg Small performed Bladder Lift surgery on me a few years ago.  The surgery was successful, little down time afterwards, I now feel like a new person.  All the problems I had before are gone and all is great again.
Thanks Dr. Small for a surgery well done.

It has been 4 months since I had a bladder lift and rectal procedure.  To say there has been a quality of life improvement would be an understatement.  I no longer have to visit restroom facilities every half hour or so or worry about a leak when I laugh, sneeze or cough.
And actually the bigger improvements have resulted from the rectal procedure.  I didn’t even realize the strain my body was experiencing just trying to have regular body functions or how uncomfortable overall it was.

The hospital facility where Dr. Small performed the surgery was wonderful.  The staff was very attentive and responsive.  They took the time to make sure I had what I needed for comfort and were always gentle in their care.  I cannot imagine a better facility.

I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Small and the pursuit of these procedures.  I am very pleased with the results and how much better I feel.

I just wanted to say that before my surgery, I had all kinds of issues with living my life to the fullest.  I had the prolapse procedure in early 2010 at the age of 50 and recovery was fast and I have not had any medical problems since then.  I wish I had done it sooner like Dr. Small wanted me to.  It really changed my life.

Thanks Dr. Small, the best doctor ever for the last 20 years.

I met Dr. Small through a referral 10+ years ago.  What a great referral it was – Dr. Small is awesome!  Where was he the first 40+ years of my life?

He is professional but as equally important personal, always showing true concern for his patients, their well-being and their lives.

He stays current on updates to the medical advancements and is well-researched.  He knows his facts prior to discussions with patients.

He’s a gem!

Dr. Small is my gynecologist and my bladder had dropped due to having babies and weight gain.  I started having leakage and wanted that repaired.  I had the surgery done almost two years ago and am pleased with the results of the surgery.  I had the surgery done one morning and was released from the hospital the next day.  I feel so much better since the surgery.

Dr. Small has ALWAYS, without fail, had my best interests in mind. As a patient of Dr. Small's for 20+ years, he has seen me through not only yearly exams, bigger female physical issues, but the progression of my becoming older and a non-Gynecology health issue robbing me of my loved career.

With clarity, diagrams, written information Dr. Small wants me to leave his office understanding, not 90% of my appointment, but 100% understanding.  These impressive personable skills of his helped me make one of the wisest decisions as a Woman.  Partnering with a Colleague, Dr. Small performed the Vaginal Sling procedure using state of the art updated procedures. He also improved, removed, restructured and/or tightened muscle, scar tissue, cysts in my Vaginal/Renal area due to several abdominal surgeries, incontinence and sexual pain. The Surgery has been a complete success. Five years ago I told Dr. Small I was not going to "settle". He listened to me.

No, I am not 40 or 50 anymore, as much as that still seems impossible.  Dr. Small and I have had discussions relative to aging and my Gynecology health. He doesn't know it, but I leave each time not feeling older, but wiser.

Dr. Small's impressive credentials, knowledge, show of respect, caring manner, sitting with me at the end of every visit, are a few very strong reasons I truly like this man and trust him to continue as my Gynecologist without question.
